Start at the beginning.
So, let me introduce myself! I'm a 34 year old female with a lot of weight to lose. I've been overweight my whole life from years of eating junk and leftovers, bad lifestyle, bad genes, the inability to cook and a plethora of other internal and external influences (I'm sure working at KFC for almost 15 years didn't help either!)
I do partly blame my upbringing. I believe that my mother especially, could have done more to reduce the situation and be a better influence. I believe that the limited menu options I grew up with could have been better, (if it didn't come with potato or bread then it wasn't a meal), and I believe that more effort could have been put into encouraging a more healthy lifestyle, but those responsibilities fell on me a long time ago.
So now, here I am, 34 years old finally coming to the realisation that I'm not happy but I could be. That changes can be made if I'm prepared to make them. That no one is accountable for my adult life except me - so I need to swiftly dispose of the lifelong list of excuses that I have. That all the things I want are within my reach, nothing is impossible if I just focus, plan and work hard.
There are a lot of things that I want to change in my life i.e. weight, job, studies, travel experience, organisation and leisure activities. This blog will focus on the weight loss but I expect that they will all crossover and intertwine as I learn and grow and become more confident and hopefully successful!
So, at 22st 10lbs, 5’ 4", with illnesses that affect my daily life and abilities, I begin a new venture and adventure by finally investing in myself and my future. This blog will be an eclectic mix of trials and triumphs, successes and failures, lessons and life changes. It will include tips and tricks, quotes that I like or find inspiring, recipes and helpful resources.
I hope you'll join me on this journey, support, advise and encourage me. Find inspiration for your own journey and feedback your own successes. If I can do this, then anyone can!
So week 1, I'm armed with a new fitbit, multi cooker, smoothie maker and hand blender... let's do this!
