WEEK 14 - SLOW AND STEADY

No gains for 5 whole weeks!!! Woohoo!!

You know what's important in life?? Celebrating the victories! However small, however unimportant or insignificant you feel it is, however much you feel that it could have been better... it doesn't matter! Recognise it, share it, celebrate it! It's an achievement and you (and it) deserve to be proud and acknowledged! So every time you notice a non scale victory (or any other victory in life) then shout about it, post it, share it, celebrate it! Why? Because you deserve it!

Have I done as good as I could have? No.  Have I done as much as I could have? Definitely not.   Have I achieved as much as I could have? Not at all.

But...

Have I done something? Yes.  Have I achieved something? Yes.  Have I made a conscious effort, made more mindful choices and gotten results? Yes!!! And that's what truly matters and by refusing to acknowledge that, I would be doing myself out of the recognition that I deserve for the effort and change that I'm making!

So, I am pleased and proud to announce another 3lb loss last week! Yay! In spite of being in pain, in spite of being ill and in spite of having several cooking disasters lol, I am slowly and steadily moving forward with increased confidence, increased motivation and increased results!

So, a round of applause and a hi-5 for all the teeny-tiny victories that only we notice but are a catalyst and essential to the progress that we make and the journey overall!

So, my non scale fail this week... pink chicken! 😣 After prepping and roasting an assortment of vegetables to eat with a delicious looking wensleydale chicken meant for 2 days dinner, the chicken just wouldn't lose it's pinkish tint! I cooked it longer, checked the temp (which was fine) but it just wouldn't go white 😣 so I ended up eating a plate of veg!

On the plus side, I've committed to beginning online personal training!!! 😯 There's a local personal trainer that I know of, too far for me to travel to regularly, but local enough for monthly  meet-ups that deals with working with obese people with additional heath problems who has assured me that he can kick my ass in gear and get definite results!  I don't know if I want to hide, cancel or smash it, lol. . very mixed feelings but a great positive step! NSV!

So, to summarise.... another mixed week of trials and triumphs, another week of new discoveries, another week of new commitments, another week of minor victories and another week when I can see good things in my future and pride in my journey!  Next stone bracket, here we go!

As always, I welcome and love your feedback, input, comments and advice and I'm so grateful for you taking the time to read my story and follow my journey.  So thank you all very much!

Poem extract from Robert Lloyd:

The tortoise heard his taunting jeer,
But still resolved to persevere,
Still drawed along, as who should say,
"I'll win, like Fabius, by delay";
On to the goal securely crept,
While Puss unknowing soundly slept.
The bets were won, the hare awake,
When thus the victor tortoise spake:
"Puss, though I own thy quicker parts,
Things are not always done by starts,
You may deride my awkward pace,
But slow and steady wins the race."
